Elisabeth Lourie, Youth Director

Elisabeth grew up in Alaska where she attended St. John's Cathedral in Eagle River. She has been ministering to youth since she was a teenager, as a Sunday school teacher, Teen SOYO advisor, a counselor at St. John's Summer Camp in Alaska, and a counselor at the Antiochian Village. She got her first taste of Massachusetts while attending Gordon College in Wenham, where she founded an OCF [Orthodox Campus Fellowship] chapter and attended church at St. Mary's in Cambridge.

From 2007-2009, Elisabeth has worked for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, first in the Office of Ionian Village [the Greeks summer camp program] and then in the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries where she was their Resource Coordinator.  She spent summer 2009 in Greece working at the Ionian Village camp as the logistical coordinator.

Her family resides in Altoona, Pennsylvania where her father is the priest at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.  She is looking forward to coming back to Massachusetts and becoming a part of the wonderful parish and community that is St. George of Boston, meeting everyone and getting to work!
