ST. GEORGE LITURGICAL CHOIR and CHANTERS are talented and dedicated parishioners who enrich our worship experience through their ministry of song. The Orthodox Church places special emphases on the role of voice and music in Liturgy and our choir and chanters are an integral part of all our church services.
Our chanters and choir are trained in a wide range of Orthodox Liturgical music including traditional Byzantine chant and modern adaptations. Their proficiency in both English and Arabic hymns helps inspire and enrich the prayer life of the community.
St. George Liturgical Choir is under the able direction of Patricia Ayoub. Our Protopsaltis is James Peters assisted by Rassem El-Massih. The Chanters follow traditional Byzantine music from various sources including the Archdiocese music for Vespers and Matins by Bazil Kazan, music from St. Anthony's Monastery in Arizona, and music from Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Brookline, MA. Parishioners with musical aptitude are encouraged to share their talent as a chanter or member of the choir.
