10 August 2018

Dear Beloved Faithful of the St. George Community,

Blessings to all of you during this season of the Transfiguration and the Dormition Fast!

Here at St. George, we have always put a strong emphasis on our ministry to the youth of the parish. We have been blessed with the ability to have a full-time Youth Director on staff for many years.

However, we also recognize the need for ministry to all ages, young and old, as we all grow in the faith together. For this reason, we are transitioning the Youth Director role into a Pastoral Assistant position.  In addition to overseeing our Youth Programs, the Pastoral Assistant will also focus on developing programs for Adult Education, Catechism, and ministries to all ages.

Therefore, we are very excited to welcome Sarah Livick-Moses as our new Pastoral Assistant. She is a recent graduate of Boston College with a Masters of Theological Studies, and she holds a B.A. in Literature and History from Hellenic College where she was the graduating class Valedictorian. Sarah brings a wealth of experience working with youth of all ages to our parish. She has taught Art at Theophany School in Needham for Preschoolers and Kindergartners, as well as a strong track record working with high schoolers at the CrossRoad Institute at Hellenic College/Holy Cross School of Theology, and with college students as the Assistant to the Dean of Students at Hellenic College. She promises to be a great asset as Pastoral Assistant at St. George, bringing strong personal, organizational and communications skills to this new position.

We would like to thank Randah Rachmani for her excellent work the past 8 months as our Parish Youth Director. Randah will be attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in the fall to begin a Masters in Autism Studies. Please join me in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Randah as she begins the next chapter in her career.

Sarah will begin as Pastoral Assistant on Monday August 13, 2018.

With love in Christ,
Fr. Timothy J. Ferguson
