Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America
The Antiochian Women promotes religious, humanitarian and social programs that contribute to the life and growth of our parish. Orthodox women have a special ministry in the life of a parish. Their role as messengers of the Gospel, educators and sustainers of the Faith has been central to Church growth since the time of the Apostles. Our Ladies Society sponsors a child in Lebanon through the Children's Relief Fund of the Archdiocese. They assist with numerous charitable causes throughout the year including clothing drives for St. Frances House. They also minister to bereaved families by serving the Mercy Meal at funerals.
The St. George Ladies Society is the local chapter of the Archdiocesan organization known as Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America. Together with local chapters from our sister parishes in the Diocese of Worcester and New England, we participate in programs and activities designed to assist women in their ministry within the Church.
Every woman of the parish is invited and encouraged to participate in the programs of the Ladies Society. Regular meetings are held once a month.
