Parish Scholarships

Parishioners of St. George Church that are in undergraduate or graduate studies are encouraged to apply for the scholarships listed below which they might be eligible for. For more information follow the links below or contact the Church Office.

The Michael G. Hamaty Scholarship

Established in 2005 by means of a generous bequest to the parish from the late Michael G. Hamaty (1925-2002).  The scholarship serves as a living memorial to Mr. Hamaty, whose intention was to assist the youth of the parish as they pursue their academic studies at an accredited college or university.  The Michael G. Hamaty Scholarship is offered to parishioners of St. George Church of Boston who are graduating from High School and have been accepted at a college or university for the following school year. Each scholarship will be awarded annually in the late spring of each year. Application deadline is April 30. Download the Michael G. Hamaty Scholarship Application here

Sally Rihbany Scholarships

The Nicholas G. Beram Veterans Association Scholarship

The Nicholas G. Beram Veterans Association offers a scholarship to High School seniors which was established to encourage, promote and support the education of students of Arabic speaking backgrounds. Contact the Church Office for more details.

Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting Scholarship

The Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting offers up to two $1000 scholarships each year. We select applicants who best demonstrate love of God and the Orthodox Christian Faith through service, scholarship, leadership, and practical citizenship in their church, school, Scouting unit, and community. Scholarships are contingent upon acceptance to an accredited four-year college or university. More information can be found at www.eocs.org.

Syrian-Lebanese Women's Club of Greater Boston

Scholarships are available from the Syrian-Lebanese Women's Club of Greater Boston to young women of Syrian and Lebanese origin, residing in Massachusetts within a 50-mile radius of Boston, who plan to pursue a four-year college education. Scholarships are based on outstanding academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, charitable and civic involvement and good character; and applicants must be in good academic standing in her school and possess those personal attributes, which best serve the community. Diocese of Worcester & New England Diocese Scholarships

The Diocese offers a multiple scholarships each year. Please contact Fr. Timothy or the Church Office for more information.

The Sonia Daly Belcher Scholarship

Established in 2020 in memory of Sonia Daly Belcher, a faithful member of our parish, this scholarship is awarded to those currently enrolled in a college, university or vocational school. More information can be found online at https://www.thesoniafund.org/
